Two years ago, IMAKEMADBEATS burst onto the scene, producing Transcontinental, a collaborative album with Roc C. Now, following the release late last year of IMMB’s dual-EP release Daylight/Nightlight, the producer is releasing his own, long awaited, solo debut. And in celebration of today’s release, the producer, who calls both Memphis and Orlando home, is releasing “Heard Of Me,” the latest single from his self-titled new album.

“Heard of Me,” one of the most triumphant tracks on the album, features Black Milk, Butta Verses, and TzariZM, while showcasing IMAKEMADBEATS’ trademark soulful style. Beginning with reverberating organ and slick drum rolls, the track quickly jumps into chopped samples and rolling, thunderous drums, with Black Milk handling duties on the first verse, followed by Butta Verses before being finished off by TzariZM. “I’ve done a lot of production for either lesser known artists, or very well known artists and just wasn’t given the credit, ” says IMMB in discussing the inspiration for the song’s title while alluding to his past work and ghost production. “Whether it was through engineering, DJ’ing, or production, somehow you might have heard of me.” And with his debut album dropping today, fans should get used to hearing from IMAKEMADBEATS a lot more from now on.

IMAKEMADBEATS’ self-titled debut IMAKEMADBEATS is available now via Doxside Music Group.

After releasing the two-part EP, Daylight/Nightlight, and “I Bet,” the Von Pea-, J. Freedome, and Xodus featuring first leak from the producer’s forthcoming self-titled debut, IMAKEMADBEATS is now treating fans with a full sampling of the album. The LP will be released on January 18th via Doxside Music Group and features the likes of Black Milk, Steele of Smif N Wessun, Planet Asia, Butta Verses and TzariZM, and more. The album sampler is a compilation of songs that puts IMAKEMADBEATS’ production skills on full display, showing off his far reaching diversity and depth of sound. With tracks ranging from hard hitting grit (“Heard Of Me,” “Spazz”) to emotionally charged (“What’s It Gonna Be”), the album maintains a level of soulfulness that has become a hallmark of all IMAKEMADBEATS work.

Producer IMAKEMADBEATS, who calls both Memphis and Orlando home, is proud to release the free EP Daylight as the first half of his dual-EP concept album Daylight/Nightlight. Daylight/Nightlight takes a deep and honest look at the duality of life, manifested through the stories delivered by collaborators Butta Verses (the man behind Daylight’s lyrical duties who’s best known for his previous collaborative work with De La Soul), and Midaz The Beast, the voice of Nightlight. While the two EPs are being released separately in a radio edited digital format, IMAKEMADBEATS and Doxside Music Group will later release both for sale together in an unedited physical format.

Daylight finds Butta Verses introspectively assessing his life while addressing the positive changes he knows he must make. No stranger to life’s temptations, the Ft. Lauderdale-based emcee is aided by an emotionally charged, soulful IMAKEMADBEATS soundtrack, featuring piano, organ, and guest vocals that figuratively (and sometimes literally) take listeners to church. Songs like “Join Me” and “Awake” explore a more vibrant and upbeat sound, echoing the daylight theme. Later in the EP, slower, more introspective songs like “Hopeless” and “How is Your Soul” fade to darker colors as they approach Nightlight.

Following the dual-EP, IMAKEMADBEATS will drop his self-titled solo debut, featuring Black Milk, Von Pea of Tanya Morgan, Butta Verses, Hezekiah, and more on Doxside Music Group.

As we near the end of 2010 most will be recounting the highs and lows of the past 12 months. Mello Music Group, however, is focused on what the New Year has in store, releasing a musical appetizer, the compilation album Helpless Dreamer, showcasing the label’s supreme and far reaching talent, while giving a preview of offerings for 2011. Features from Diamond District, Kenn Starr, Roc Marciano, Fresh Daily, Invincible, Buff1, XO, Magestik Legend, Tranqill, Stik Figa, Toine, and Finale are included on the 13-track compilation album, with production from Oddisee, Apollo Brown, Has Lo, Black Milk, SlimKat 78, and Just Wright.

The first single to drop, “From The Top,” sees Topeka, Kansas, native Stik Figa detail his hometown and state capital city, affectionately referred to in the song title as ‘Top’. For Oddisee, who co-produced the track with Dunc from DTMD, working with Stik allowed him to continue his own efforts of geographic diversification while affording him the opportunity to work with an ultra-talented emcee. “In the tradition of Diamond District, Trek Life, and Tranqill, Stik Figa is the next project in my attempt to push regional Hip Hop,” says the DC native. “‘From The Top’ really gives you a glimpse into a part of the country most of us are blind too. The song, itself, shows me Topeka, Kansas through the eyes of Stik Figa.”

The Mello Music Group compilation, Helpless Dreamer, is available now while Oddisee & Stik Figa’s From The Top EP will be available November 30, 2010.

Detroit is home to many of the illest  emcees and producers on the planet, Dilla, Eminem, Black Milk, Elzhi, Proof: Add to the list Apollo Brown who took the stage in 2010 when he signed to Mello Music Group.  His new group The Left is made up of Apollo behind the boards, emcee Journalist 103 (featured on Proof of D12’s Broken) and DJ Soko on the cuts.  The Left‘s debut album Gas Mask has already begun garnering talk of underground album of the year.  To introduce the group, The Left has com

-posed a pre-album EP entitled Gas Leaks, which is now available on iTunes.
The sound is raw, grimy, and haunting.  Rugged boom bap filled with soul samples – the type of Detroit Hiphop that the streets have been clamoring for.  Scared is the first track off the Gas Leaks pre-album EP.  The track opens with a siren that builds until the drum kicks in: boom boom bap.  Horn stabs finish laying the instrumental foundation for Journalist 103 who jumps in with “You will now bear witness to the LEFTist movement / So if you know like I know step aside for the improvement.”  DJ Soko scratches that old real shit, “It’s on and poppin this year,” adding the perfect touch of tablelism to an already banging track.
“When I was making the beat, I wanted to make something that stabbed listeners in the ears.  The horns I heard on the sample did just that, so it was a must that I chop it up.  I wanted a suitable introduction to not just the Gas Mask album, but also The Left,” said Apollo Brown.
The Left’s new album Gas Mask produced by Apollo Brown is available October 26th via Mello Music Group

Grammy Award-winning producer Nottz is excited to announce the release of his solo debut, You Need This Music. The album will be released on October 12th via up and coming label, Raw Koncept, and will introduce fans to a new facet of Nottz, as he handles a bulk of the rhyming on the album, in addition to producing the full project.

Nottz is a fixture among the industries heaviest-hitting producers; he secured his first placements on Busta Rhymes’ best-selling album E.L.E in 1998 and has maintained a strong presence since. Having since collaborated with industry luminaries such as Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Notorious B.I.G, 50 Cent, The Game, Little Brother, Royce Da 5’9 and more, Nottz has amassed an enviable and growing resume. Though he has recently dedicated himself to mastering cadence and lyrical structure for You Need This Music, he has still managed to place compositions on upcoming projects by the likes of Rah Digga, Scarface, and the elusive Dr. Dre, who’s Detox boasts Nottz among a very select few guests.

On You Need This Music, Nottz pulls no punches, charging out of the gate over a cavalcade of snares hammered out by Travis Barker on the album intro. Handling the entirety of the album’s production on his trusy ASR-10, his lyrics compliment each song of the 14-track marathon, a pace kept by energetic guest verses from Black Milk, Little Brother, Asher Roth and Joel Ortiz and tempered by soulful hooks from Dwele, Mayer Hawthorne, Bilal and Colin Munroe.
